This week’s Makeover Monday features not one, but TWO new decks for our wonderful clients in Annapolis, Maryland.
As always, our project begins with an onsite visit from one of our friendly and knowledgeable Project Consultants. Jeff Gottleib met with the homeowners to discuss their plans for their two outdoor spaces and go over material possibilities and composite deck color options that were readily available and in stock. Once the design decisions were made, the CAD drawings were complete, and HOA approval was set, we were ready to get to work!
Before: Wood Deck in Annapolis, Maryland
We demoed and hauled away both existing wood decks, and constructed a new 21’6″ x 15′ pressure treated fame with a 4′ x 4′ landing. We then placed Timbertech Reserve decking in Driftwood using hidden fasteners. This type of composite decking is designed to retain color and is extremely resistant to moisture intrusion, as there are no wood or mineral fillers in the cap. We then installed one set of 4′ wide steps down to another 4 x 4 landing, and turn steps to the left. White vinyl railing with black round balusters complement the lovely grey tones, and white vinyl fascia trims the perimeter and sides of steps for a more finished look.
The small balcony deck was also removed and replaced for a complete backyard transformation. We constructed a new 13′ x 4′ outdoor area to match the lower TimberTech Driftwood deck, using the same deck and railing features. Both updated spaces breathe new life into the home and will last for years to come!
