We often showcase some of our larger projects on social media for #MakeoverMonday or Project of the Month, but smaller spaces deserve some love too! Every home is unique and it’s always a pleasure to help homeowners work within their individual spaces and budgets to create the perfect outdoor escape.
This week’s Makeover Monday features a lovely backyard sanctuary in Queen Anne’s County. Our clients, located in Stevensville, wanted to expand their living space from indoors to outdoors. Tracy Ours, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Project Consultants helped design a cozy space that fits nicely off the home’s backdoor.
Before
To start, we removed and hauled away the existing small landing. Then, we constructed a new 12′ x 12.5′ deck with a rear beam for support. We installed one of our most popular in-stock decking colors, Trex Select Pebble Gray, which nicely complements the home’s siding. The deck was wrapped in white textured vinyl fascia, and white vinyl Washington-style railing safely secures the area. The existing 8′ x 6′ privacy fence panel was reused as privacy railing on the deck, which was a great cost-effective solution. To complete the new look, we installed 1″ white privacy lattice around perimeter of the deck and a set of 4′ wide stairs.
