In September of last year, an EF-1 tornado with peak winds of 90 mph touched down in Edgewater, Maryland. The tornado was on the ground for about 10 minutes and uprooted several trees, downed power lines and damaged some homes and businesses. Unfortunately for our customers, the Edgewater tornado also destroyed their spacious waterfront home deck.

Thankfully these homeowners were safe, but they were left with an absolute mess to clean up and nowhere to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the South River. Andrew Vidulich, a Fence & Deck Connection Project Consultant, came to the rescue and worked with our homeowners to replace the deck in kind.
Once the CAD drawings were complete and all the plans were approved, our hardworking crews removed and hauled away the existing damaged deck. We then installed 540 sq. ft. of AZEK Harvest decking in Slate Grey, accented by Kona feature boards and a centered seam board. AZEK decking is scratch and dent-resistant for a more durable surface than many competitive composite and wood products. Additionally, no wood fillers in the core or the cap enables the best resistance to mold and other moisture damage
Black Victorian-style Ultralox railings enclose the large space and offers an elegant touch on durable aluminum construction. 15 steps are lit by mini-Vega style lights as an added safety feature. Deck lighting offers the best way for family and friends to safely enjoy your outdoor space long after the sun goes down. Lastly, Matching Slate Grey fascia wraps the new deck and stair risers for a more finished look.
