When it’s time to consider investing in a deck makeover, homeowners are usually left with a few options. Just because your deck’s stairs, rails, and planking are in bad shape, doesn’t necessarily mean the entire structure has to be torn down and replaced. On the other hand, you don’t want to gamble with the safety of those who’ll be enjoying your deck, including family members and friends. Our Maryland fence and deck installation company can help determine if your deck’s posts and framework are structurally sound enough to support a re-decking project over a total replacement.
Jeff Gottleib, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Project Consultants worked with homeowners in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to breathe new life into their existing outdoor space that was leaking from the upper landing. Using the existing frame, we upgraded their aging wooden deck using long-lasting composite material.
Before:
Our talented and hardworking crews removed the existing pressure treated wood deck boards and replaced with Trex Select decking in Pebble Gray using hidden fasteners. Pebble Gray is a light heather grey with an easy-to-maintain, wood-like grain pattern. Composite decking is extremely popular due to its mold and mildew resistance, as well as the material being extremely easy to clean. It truly requires minimal maintenance!
We then replaced the existing railing with white vinyl Washington-style railing and white square balusters. Two new sets of 4′ wide steps lead up to both the 4′ x 4′ platform and 3′ x 3′ platform. To complete the new look, the deck and steps were trimmed with white vinyl fascia.
