For decades, a white picket fence has become a symbol for the American dream. Picket fences are traditionally white and made out of wood, although the need to constantly whitewash or repaint the fence and replace aging boards has pushed other materials into popularity and picket fences, such as vinyl. The appeal of a picket fence is pretty simple: it’s a great way to keep your kids and/or pets in the yard without creating an eyesore for you (or your neighbors). You can easily see over and through the fence, and it adds curb appeal to your yard.
Project Consultant Tracy Ours worked with Odenton homeowners to upgrade their backyard wood picket fencing to the more maintenance-free vinyl material. With the new design choice, our Anne Arundel clients won’t have to worry about repainting and staining throughout the years, and can spend more time enjoying the outdoors! Vinyl fencing is also extremely sturdy and can easily withstand wear, tear, and natural elements. They can even minimize damage to your garden or lawn furniture during high winds or severe storms.
Before: Wood Picket Fencing
We first removed and hauled away the existing wood fence. Our talented, hard-working crew then installed approximately 264 feet of 4′ tall white vinyl contemporary spaced picket fencing with dog ear pickets and New England-style post caps. One 5′ wide flat top walk gate and one 4′ wide flat top gate provides access to and from the yard. The new fence is beautiful and brightens up the yard space with this classic neighborhood look.
