Homeowners in Glen Burnie, Maryland came to Fence & Deck Connection in need of an outdoor makeover. Their existing wood deck had warped deck boards and a dilapidating railing. Andrew Vidulich, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Sales Consultants worked with our clients to transform their outdoor space into one that requires far less maintenance and allows for maximum enjoyment! Composite decking is resistant to warping, rotting, staining, or fading. Plus, its quality low-maintenance material makes it easy to clean with just soap and water!
Before:
To make the transformation complete, we first demoed and hauled away the existing wood deck. We then replaced the bare space with 208 sq. ft. of Trex Select decking in Pebble Grey. Pebble Grey is a light heather grey with an easy-to-maintain, wood-like grain pattern, making it the simple choice for customers looking for an elegant outdoor space that will last for years to come. A seam board was designed to avoid joints in the deck. White vinyl railings with black aluminum balusters offer a classic look, and white Saturn Anello Post cap lights help illuminate the space at dark. Additionally, black Pyxis riser lights add an additional safety feature on the deck’s stairs. Though homeowners chose to place their own gate at the bottom set of steps, we do offer the addition of gates and safety latches designed to match seamlessly with your decking.
We also installed a DEK Drain system with an unfinished underside. Though an additional cost, deck drainage systems create a dry, usable space underneath your second-story deck while protecting your deck frame from moisture which can lead to wood rot and decay. For a polished look, white vinyl sleeves were placed on all posts, and white vinyl wraps the front, back, and ends of the support beam. The new finished space adds a modern touch to the home!
