A new deck can completely transform the overall appearance of your home and backyard. Looking for a bit of a refresh with superior craftsmanship and long-lasting composite decking, homeowners in Glen Burnie reached out to Fence & Deck Connection to design their outdoor space. Project Consultant Brian Hannon worked with our clients in Anne Arundel County to install a beautiful new second-story living space that brightens up the home both at day and at night! Take a look at the transformation below…
Before:
We first removed and haled away the existing deck before constructing a new 16 x 16′ structure with a front platform and a set of 13 steps. We then installed TimberTech Edge Prime+ composite decking in Sea Salt Gray. Timbertech Edge Prime+ brings affordable, beautifully monochromatic decking to your outdoor living space with moderately varied hues. Featuring a subtle, straight grain pattern, the long-lasting, scalloped decking in this collection creates an authentic wood visual that is sure to impress.
A feature board creates a “picture frame” accent, and white vinyl Washington-style railing with black round aluminum spindles encloses the area. A gate at the top of the stairs secures the deck space – great for keeping small children or pets safely contained. Unlike the previous deck, white fascia and white vinyl wrap on the support posts and beams, creating a clean, finished look. Post cap lights and riser lights ensure the space can be used well after the sun goes down, and is an added safety feature for climbing up and down the stairs during evening get-togethers!
