Homeowners in Annapolis, Maryland contacted Fence & Deck Connection looking for a bit of an outdoor makeover. Their existing wood deck had warped and splintering deck boards, and was definitely showing its age. Jeff Gottleib, one of Fence & Deck Connection’s experienced Sales Consultants worked with our clients to transform their outdoor space into one that requires far less maintenance and allows for maximum enjoyment! Composite decking is resistant to warping, rotting, staining, or fading. Plus, its quality low-maintenance material makes it easy to clean with just soap and water!
Before:
We first demoed and hauled away the existing deck before constructing a new 26′ x 12′ pressure treated wood frame with two 4′ x 4′ landings at the front staircase. To replace the older wood decking, the new deck was designed using Trex Enhance decking in the Rocky Harbor hue. A contemporary changing neutral, Rocky Harbor adds sandy undertones to a rustic slate grey, featuring a low-maintenance, wood-like grain pattern.
This hue belongs to Trex’s Enhance collection, which offers an authentic wood-grain appearance with the durability of composite and the affordability of wood. Enhance decking boards are scalloped, making them as lightweight as lumber—without the extra work. This long-lasting decking requires little upkeep and comes in seven colors.
A matching seam board was placed down the center of the deck, and the fascia and sides of all steps were trimmed with white PVC. White Washington-style railing with black round aluminum balusters enclose the new space, and completes this modern, updated look.
