We are thrilled to announce that Fence & Deck Connection is the proud recipient of The Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland’s 2023 Torch Awards for Ethics! This prestigious award recognizes organizations that exemplify outstanding ethical practices and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to integrity in their operations. We are honored to be one of just five businesses in the state of Maryland to receive this year’s award! In addition, we were also featured as a “Hall of Fame” business for our 28 years as a member of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland.
Other winners of the 2023 Torch Award for Ethics include Best Buy Waterproofing, LLC, 20Four7VA, Tar Heel Construction Group, LLC, and Orases Consulting Corporation. In addition to the winners, the following organizations were named finalists: True North Remodeling, Maryland Heating & Air, United Distribution Systems, and Comer Construction, Inc.
To celebrate the achievement of Fence & Deck Connection and our fellow winners, BBB of Greater Maryland invited the public and to the Fall 2023 Signature Event, which took place on the morning of October 12, 2023. The breakfast and award ceremony was an excellent opportunity for networking and learning from the best of Maryland’s business community. WBFF FOX45 news anchor, Patrice Sanders emceed the event, and, Signe Pringle, Deputy Secretary of the Maryland Department of Commerce, joined as the keynote speaker.
The BBB announced our award and Jeffrey Wall, Managing Partner & VP Sales/Marketing accepted on behalf of the entire Fence & Deck Connection team. During his acceptance speech, he touched on the four C’s of the award’s criteria: Character, Culture, Customers, and Community. These important aspects of a successful small business have and will always be incorporated into our day-to-day practices at Fence & Deck Connection.
“Building lifelong customers through our commitment to excellence” is the Fence & Deck Connection mission statement. However, defining a mission statement on our website or the walls of our business is meaningless unless we truly live and stand by those words each and every day. Our company culture is undoubtedly reflected by our mission statement.
As a team, we are united in our belief that building strong relationships with our customers makes us better people, better neighbors, and better employees. This goes well beyond fence and deck installations, as we encourage and promote several charities and community involvement.
