Project Consultant Jimmy LaRue met with our customers at their St. Charles home for a free onsite estimate appointment to discuss their vision for the outdoor space. We first installed new framework and landings to support 438 sq. ft. of TimbeTech Edge Prime+ decking in the Dark Cocoa. As one of our stock boards, TimberTech Edge Prime+ Dark Cocoa offers the simple, traditional wood look you love without the rigorous maintenance of wood. Featuring subtle color blending and a rift- and quarter-sawn straight grain pattern, the lighter weight scalloped profile premium polymer capped composite boards deliver real wood aesthetics you’ll never have to sand, stain, or seal.
White Washington-style vinyl railing with black round balusters enclose the new space, and white vinyl textured fascia wrap gives the new deck a clean, finished look. Low voltage Iris Anello lights on every post ensure this space can be used both day and night, with plenty of light for grilling, dining, or entertaining! New steps complete with Pyxis white riser lights lead down to the backyard from the main deck, and our DEK Drain system complete with white Soffit ceiling was installed under the main portion of the large outdoor space. Though an additional cost, deck drainage systems create a dry, usable space underneath your second-story deck while protecting your deck frame from moisture which can lead to wood rot and decay.
Another great feature of this was project is the addition of a 11′ x 12′ white vinyl pergola. This large pergola is a a beautiful deck accessory that serves many purposes! Pergolas are a great way to extend your living space and can increase the amount of time you spend outside on warm, sunny days in the middle of a Maryland summer. Designed and oriented correctly on your deck, a pergola can provide plenty of shade for dinner parties, book reading, or a “work from home” office location. You may also install additional covers, for even more sun protection or in preparation for unpredictable summer storms, such as fabric or a retractable cover. Given the size of the pergola, an afternoon BBQ or evening dinner party will have a lovely shaded area to eat beneath!
