These summer internships are a great way for high school and/or college students to use a valuable skillset and gain experience in the construction industry. Position: Video Editing and Content Creation Micro-Internship
Location: Annapolis, Maryland – Remote
Duration: May – August 2024
Compensation: Hourly (Office Meetings) & Per-project Stipend
Fence & Deck Connection is seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a summer intern specializing in video editing and content creation. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in transforming aerial footage of some of our most impressive fence, deck, and screened porch projects into engaging videos for use on our social media channels. You will also have the ability to document various stages of construction, and/or showcasing our finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to understand campaign objectives and translate them into visually stunning videos that communicate our brand message effectively
- Oversee editing and post-processing of engaging videos tailored for paid and organic campaigns on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Enhance storytelling through visual elements to captivate our target audience and drive brand engagement
- Keep a pulse on the latest trends in video editing, social media, and digital marketing to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table. Experiment with new techniques and technologies to continually elevate the quality of our video content
Requirements:
- Prior experience and working knowledge with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
- Personal laptop is recommended
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for visual storytelling.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their video specifications
- Trustworthy, confident, and reliable
- Ability to work quickly and independently, while meeting strict deadlines
- Passion for photography, videography, and outdoor construction projects

Duration: May – August 2024
Compensation: $15/hr or Per-Project Stipend
Fence & Deck Connection is seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a summer intern specializing in drone video and photography. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in capturing aerial footage of our larger fence, deck, and screened porch projects, documenting various stages of construction, and/or showcasing our finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize drone technology to capture high-quality aerial imagery and videography of fencing and decking installations.
- Work closely with our project teams to schedule drone photography sessions at different job sites.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines while operating the drone.
- Upload and organize all files to company Google Drive and prepare for editing and post-processing.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in operating drones and familiarity with drone photography techniques*
- Personal Laptop is recommended but not required
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for capturing visually appealing images.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Trustworthy, confident, and reliable
- Energetic and great communication skills
- Understands the value of building and maintaining professional relationships
- Ability to work quickly and independently
- Extremely detail oriented

* While we do have a drone for use, candidate may be more comfortable operating personal equipment.
