Composite decking, also known as synthetic decking, is an environmentally wood alternative that’s comprised of plastic and wood fiber. Though it doesn’t boast the “natural” benefit of a wood deck, there are several color options and textures to choose from that are aesthetically pleasing. At Fence & Deck Connection, we offer only the finest decking materials from all the major manufacturers, including: Trex, TimberTech and Fiberon.
For this week’s Makeover Monday, we’re featuring a stunning Fiberon deck out of Elkridge, Maryland. Fiberon’s Concordia premium PE composite decking combines classic and on-trend colors and grain patterns with unbeatable performance. While Fiberon decking is not typically one of our stock selections, we proudly install their trusted and beautiful collections when homeowners prefer their hues! Project Consultant Andrew Vidulich helped homeowners in Elkridge design a larger outdoor space using Fiberon Horizon Ipe decking. We first removed and hauled away the existing wood deck before constructing new framework to support 340 sq. ft. of Fiberon Horizon decking in Ipe. The Horizon Collection includes a sweeping cathedral grain with dramatic streaking that emulates exotic hardwoods. Unlike natural ipe wood, Fiberon’s four-sided PermaTech cap layer provides superior protection and fade resistance and the boards never need sanding, staining or painting. Simply clean with soap and water or a mild cleaner. The finished surface on top and bottom is ideal for second-story decks, and reversible boards save time and money while reducing waste! install appx.
White vinyl railings with black aluminum balusters were topped with a 6″ matching Ipe cap rail for a beautiful, useful, and sophisticated look. One single matching perimeter feature board adorns the deck’s surface, and white vinyl fascia wraps on the deck itself complete the look. For a beautiful nighttime ambiance, we installed Saturn Anello lights on all posts, and eight Corona-style riser lights on the deck’s new staircase. Now, homeowners can access the backyard from the deck, unlike their previous outdoor space!
