It’s amazing how a new deck can completely transform the overall appearance of your home and backyard. Looking to upgrade from wood decking to composite material, homeowners in Hanover, Maryland reached out to Fence & Deck Connection to design their outdoor space. Kevin Bullion worked with our clients in Anne Arundel County to install a beautiful new deck with two shades of gray that perfectly match the home’s siding and roofing. Take a look at the transformation below!
Before: Wood Deck in Hanover, Maryland
We first removed and hauled away the existing deck and steps before installing new construction attached to the house. The new decking structure supports approximately 256 sq. ft. of TimberTech Edge Prime+ composite decking in Sea Salt Gray. Timbertech Edge Prime+ brings affordable, beautifully monochromatic decking to your outdoor living space with moderately varied hues. Featuring a subtle, straight grain pattern, the long-lasting, scalloped decking in this collection creates an authentic wood visual that is sure to impress.
White vinyl Lincoln-style handrails with black aluminum balusters safely enclose the deck area. A 2″ x 4′ Trex party shelf in Island Mist, also known as a cap-board or cocktail rail, lines the entirety of the deck railing. A cool medley of calming silver tones, Island Mist mimics the weathered look of driftwood, with its true-to-nature vibrancy and realistic grain pattern. It’s nice accent grey to the lighter deck boards. The addition of a deck board to your top rail creates a flat surface to place a drink (juice or cocktail!), or even some nice plants.
Support beams and posts are left unwrapped and expose our high-quality pressure treated wood material. However, the deck’s perimeter is wrapped with white textured vinyl. One set of 4′ wide steps off of a small landing leads down to the backyard with a handrail placed inside the steps.
