Composite decking, also known as synthetic decking, is an environmentally wood alternative that’s comprised of plastic and wood fiber. Though it doesn’t boast the “natural” benefit of a wood deck, there are several color options and textures to choose from that are aesthetically pleasing. Fence & Deck Connection is proud to offer only the highest quality materials from some of the best brands in the business, including TimberTech!
One of the greatest benefits for composite decking is the fact that it’s far easier to clean and maintain than wood decking. For starters, composite decking is more resistant to weather, pests, mold, and other natural sources of decay and color fading. Plus, the material doesn’t rot, crack, splinter, or deteriorate with time.
Tracy Ours, one of our knowledgeable Project Consultants helped our clients in Crownsville, Maryland make the switch from wood decking to composite decking, just in time to enjoy all summer long! With new composite decking, these Anne Arundel County homeowners won’t need to worry about yearly power washing, sanding, and staining!
Before: Wood Deck
We first removed and hauled away the existing wood decking, before installing the new composite decking which will require far less maintenance. With a new, supportive structure and framing, our talented crews then installed 310 sq. ft. of TimberTech Reserve decking in the Driftwood hue. The Reserve collection consists of a lively and elegant mix of colors. Inspired by recycled wood, the Driftwood boards have a thick, low-gloss metallic brushed finish, which highlights the classic cathedral wood grain pattern. A Driftwood feature and seam board frame the new deck space nicely.
White textured vinyl fascia offers a clean, finished look, as well as the use of cortex plugs to hide screws. White vinyl Washington-style railing encloses the second story outdoor space, and a new set of 16 steps leads down to the backyard. Our customers also wanted to enjoy their deck well into the nighttime, so we installed a total of 16 white Saturn Anello post cap lights. This lighting package really illuminates the deck perimeter which is perfect for entertaining in the evening time.
