We often feature the backyard on our blogs and social media, as the majority of homeowners in Anne Arundel County and greater Maryland come to us for help building their decks, customarily designed for the back of homes. However, Fence & Deck Connection is proud to install front porches as well when they meet our minimum requirement of 100 sq. ft. Before:
We first removed and hauled away the existing deck boards, railings, and stairs before replacing the aged wood decking. While wood is a popular and classic choice for front porches and backyard decks, it does require yearly maintenance — sanding, staining, sealing, and panting. Like many wood fences or decks, this home’s didn’t get the attention it needed. Life is busy — why worry about maintaining your outdoor space than enjoying it?
To solve that problem, we installed nearly 200 sq. ft. of maintenance-friendly TimberTech Edge Prime+ composite decking in Sea Salt Gray. TimberTech Edge Prime+ brings affordable, beautifully monochromatic decking to your outdoor living space with moderately varied hues. Featuring a subtle, straight grain pattern, the long-lasting, scalloped decking in this collection creates an authentic wood visual that is sure to impress. In particular, Sea Salt Gray is a medium gray with warm and cool undertones to create a versatile, gently weathered wood look.
White vinyl Washington-style railings with white square balusters enclose the porch and one inch white vinyl privacy lattice skirts the underside of the porch. A lattice gate provides access underneath the porch and four steps welcome homeowners and guests alike to the beautifully redone space. The new front porch is the perfect spot to spend summer afternoons and evenings relaxing, or waving to neighbors as they pass by!
