Homeowners in Towson, Maryland contacted Fence & Deck Connection to transform their outdoor patio into a more extravagant outdoor living space. With the help and design expertise of Project Consultant Steve Nehus, our Baltimore County clients now have a beautiful TimberTech Azek second story deck.
We first constructed a 19′ x 13′ free-standing deck using high-quality pressure treated wood. We then secured TimberTech Azek Landmark decking using hidden fasteners. For this project, our customers chose the American Walnut hue. American Walnut is a deep, cool brown with a range of hues from chocolatey brown to ashy black for a rustic tone that resembles walnut hardwood. For the railing, we installed white vinyl Lincoln-style railing with black aluminum balusters. An American Walnut cap rail provides a great space to place beverages or planters. The deck was wrapped with white PVC fascia with mitered corners for a clean, finished look.
No longer ground level, this outdoor space was equipped with one set of steps with two 4′ x 4′ landings — one mid-landing and another at the top of the stairs. For a lovely after-dark ambiance, we installed white Venus post cap lights on each rail post. The deck is even more gorgeous even when the sun sets!
