Once our customer provided a property plat and our permitting team assisted with the obtainment of the necessary building permit, our skilled craftsmen constructed a new 18 x 12′ deck. The brand new deck as designed with TimberTech AZEK Landmark decking in the stunning Castle Gate hue. The Landmark collection achieves the bold, character-rich texture of popular hardwoods like white oak and walnut without the rigorous maintenance of wood. The capped polymer decking features proprietary materials technology that delivers sophisticated, real wood aesthetics you’ll never have to sand, stain, or seal. Castle Gate is a stormy gray with cool undertones, which helps to provide a modern look that resembles weathered reclaimed wood.
The modern look of the deck boards pairs well with our customer’s railing choice — black Ultralox with cable rail. Cable deck railing is perfect for homeowners who want to enjoy gorgeous views while maintaining safety and durability. In general, cable deck railing offers unobstructed views and clear night lines from your deck, allowing you to fully appreciate your surroundings without bulky materials. Unlike traditional wood railing, cable railing requires minimum maintenance and is easy to keep clean. Horizontal cables running parallel along the entire length of the railing system offers clean lines and a minimalist appearance that complements contemporary architecture well. Our customers chose a lighting package that includes black Ultralox post cap lights at each corner of the deck, which provides a lovely after-dark ambiance.
To complete the new space with a clean, finished look, we wrapped the deck with white PVC fascia with mitered corners, capped with Cortex plugs.
